The City of Eugene conducted a Community Servey in 2022 to help City leadership determine how best to support the community and the organization’s goals and to help with future budget decision making.

Survey results specific to Churchill Area Neighbors highlighted some key areas of focus:

Public Safety and Crime 65%

Homelessness 58%

Parks and Open Space 44%

Traffic 27%

Emergency Preparedness 40%

Our goals for 2024 will be to provide resources and opportunities for participation surrounding these and other areas of concern. Please contact us if you have specific ideas. In addition, below are some resources to get you started.

Useful departments within City of Eugene:

Public Works Transportation Planning: Projects under construction, planning for future projects, how to request projects and report issues.

Code Enforcement: Report health and safety hazards.

Eugene PD: File police reports, request a home inspection, go on a ride-along.

Homelessness: Connect to resources, find out City response, report concerns.

Traffic: report street light outages, request new signage.

Parks and Open Space: Take a hike, reserve a park, join a community garden, find out future plans.

Emergency Preparedness: Review City response plans, sign up for alerts, get prepared.

At CAN's March Executive Meeting we invited representatives from City of Eugene Transportation Planning Department to discuss some safety concerns and upcoming projects within the CAN area.  One of our main topics that night was discussing pedestrian and bicycle safety as students and families make their way to school.  The Transportation Department provided several links to resources, see below:
